But Godliness with Contentment is Great Gain - 1 Timothy 6:6

In Revelation 2, Jesus talks about the deeds and doctrine of the Nicolatians. He said that this would be prevalent in the end time churches : This word stems from Greek ( Nicolah, meaning "let us eat/conquer devour" ). This is the spirit out here that is sweeping our churches and our world. It’s marked by never being satisfied, wanting more and more. David developed this spirit in the Bible. Although God had given him so much. He went out and numbered those who were under his Realm. To covet numbers. The children of Israel also had this spirit in the wilderness. They murmured and coveted for more. And like David, the Lord had already blessed them with so much. Yet, like nowadays, they looked to the other nations, they looked to the world around them , pleasures, numbers and glory, to measure their happiness on. And coveted for more. The remedy Life with God is so wonderful, when we are content. Like the scripture says, godliness with contentment is great gain. I’ve learned a good wholesome complete, happy, content life, can be reached when we take a step back, look around us and thank God , for all that we have, and be content. Rather than complaining about what we don’t have. Thus life takes on a whole new meaning when you can learn to be content. In all cases, we should learn to be grateful to God and make the most out of what God has given us. Enjoy it, cherish it. And thank God day by day. And you will see the goodness of life, and life will take on a whole new meaning. Because 'great gain', is achieved when we are truly content. But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. 1 Timothy 6: 6-7 |
